Our Field

Dupage County Forest Preserve - Springbrook Prairie

The Prop Masters make their home at the DuPage County Forest Preserve model aircraft field located off of Plainfield - Naperville road south of 75th Street in Naperville, IL.

The club has put in a paved 200 ft. runway, starting benches, transmitter impound stand, and covered benches for spectators. We are very proud of our field and our members take great care in maintaining it. We believe you will not find a more picturesque field in the hobby.

The field hours are 9:00 a.m.- Dusk Mon-Fri and Saturday and Sunday 9:00 a.m.- 6:30 p.m. . Our instructor evening are Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00 PM to dusk.

Our field is suitable for many types of airplanes and we are helicopter friendly. Most flyers will have no trouble piloting up to a 120 size nitro model. ΒΌ scale and above it is recommend that you are an advanced flyer with good landing skills. Due to the runway length turbine jets are not flyable at our field. On any given weekend you will find people flying everything from small foam planes up to 1/3 scale and the occasional 50CC. For helicopters you find everything from 450 class to 700.

A DuPage County Forest Preserve model aircraft permit is required (they do check). Permits are available at the Forest Preserve HQ.
